After being at Raindance for 50 days, Miste has finally gained enough weight that you can no longer see her ribs. She actually looks like you would expect a 25 year old mare to look, and the best part is that she continues to gain weight.
She still has 5 more days of antibiotics to go before she has had her full 30 day run and I may continue them a little longer just to be sure, but I have not seen any discharge from her sinus infection for 2 days now. Last night she actually used her bad nostril to sniff the treat I was giving her, to decide if it was something she was going to eat or not. I was pretty excited!!!!
She will now run and jump around when I let her out of her stall in the morning and last weekend when she went into the arena, she put her tail up and ran almost half way across it before throwing her head up, stopping and looking all around her.
Her care team, Paula and Carole, were there and they just stood and oohed and aaahed at how majestic she looked.
